I haven't written a journal in so long! So I am going to write about the first thing that popped into my mind. I have been reading this book called "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. Before I began the book, I was actually dreading starting it. I had heard many things, good/bad, about the first chapter. It was mainly about what they soldiers in the the vietnam war had on them when they humped(marched). So I finally needed to start, because I had school in like a week. When I started the first chapter, I knew it was going to be long, but I didn't realize it would go so fast. Usually long chapters go so slow, but this one surprised me and went fast. While I read it, I thought about how there really wasn't a storyline. The odd thing was that even though there was no storyline, it still kept my attention throughout the entire chapter. I am really looking forward to readying the rest of the book. If what I heard from everyone else who read the book, the most boring part was chapter one. If that is true then I am going to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the book as well.
Well, I hoped you enjoyed my rant on "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. I had much fun writing myself. Good luck to the soldiers over seas. Now that I have a better idea about what goes on in wars, I can actually appreciate what the soldiers are doing for us over there. Thank you all!
